Job Description for Administrative Manager, Bingle Camp Ministries

STATEMENT OF JOB: The Administrative Manager is responsible for the general management of Bingle Memorial Camp. She/he recruits facility staff, assists in the recruitment of program staff and volunteers, and is responsible to the Board of Directors. Annual job term is eleven months, dates TBD.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Have a Christian commitment and a willingness to support and promote the Mission of the camp. 2) Able to relate in a positive manner with public and staff. 3) Be at least 25 years old. 4) Must have communication skills, team building and administrative experience. 5) Possess a valid driver's license.
DUTIES: The Administrative Manager is under the auspices of the Board and works with the Board’s Administrative committee on many aspects, but is expected to work independently with input from the Board. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Responsible for:
- Assist facility staff.
- Provide training for facility staff.
- Assist in the recruitment of Ministers-In-Residence for Bingle-sponsored camps.
- Provide orientation for facility staff and Program Director.
- Ensure that a Christian atmosphere is created and supported among staff.
- Practice and encourage good communication skills with and among staff.
- Support Christian camp programs that foster spiritual growth and character development.
- Responsible for the coordination and processing of registrations for Bingle-sponsored camps in a prompt and timely fashion.
- Present proposals for facilities and management of camp and retreat center to Board. Work with the Board to develop and enhance a sense of vision for the camp. Develop goals in conjunction with the Board.
- Promote the summer camping season and the retreat center to individual churches, the Presbytery, and the general public. This may include the preparation of brochures, speaking to churches and civic groups, writing news releases and other promotional opportunities within the community. Work alongside the Board's Publicity Committee.
- Meet with guest groups to schedule and negotiate fees and contracts.
- Prepare written and oral annual reports. Items for reports include number of campers, numbers of meals, incidents and accidents, and summaries of Program Director and staff.
- Keep designated representative of the Board informed of problems or potential problems, needs, and successful events at camp.
- Other duties as assigned by the Board.
- Actively promote fund raising.
